This Digital Roadmap is part of Leeds 2023’s year of culture. The Digital Roadmap aspires to ensure digital is fully embedded and integrated across the Artistic, Operational and Communication functions and ambitions of the organisation. Their aim, through sharing the Roadmap, is to become a best practice model for a digital year of culture.
The core of the Digital Roadmap outlines the ‘Digital Capabilities’ that are required to support the needs of key stakeholders. It then translates those capabilities into a Digital Operating Model, which acts as a blueprint for how Leeds 2023 will work. The overall purpose of the Digital Roadmap is to ensure the Leeds 2023 organisation design fully embeds digital into everything it does.
This Roadmap acts as a great case study for how a new organisation can agree a vision of what digital means to them, and to think creatively about how to design an organisation and unlock the potential of technology to support their mission effectively and efficiently. Leeds 2023’s Director of External Relations, Abigail Scott Paul, introduces and outlines their work in creating the Roadmap in this interesting article.
