The data protection guidance sheet [Collections Trust, 2018] sets out the law as it applies to collections and includes links to other useful information sources.
It covers aspects of data protection law of particular relevance to museums and the collections information they hold. It is not intended to cover all relevant data protection law and guidance, and before reading, it users are recommended to familiarise themselves with the main concepts of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 (eg from the Information Commissioner’s Office Guide to the General Data Protection Regulation).
